What is Dysport®?

Dysport® is an injectable liquid used by healthcare professionals to treat moderate to severe frown lines.

It delivers predictable, natural results, so you look like you, only with less noticeable facial lines.

Medically, it’s a botulinum neurotoxin which is an acetylcholine release inhibitor and a neuromuscular blocking agent. It temporarily prevents specific muscle movements that cause frown lines.

Are Dysport® Injections Painful?

Dysport® injections are very quick (10 minutes for the actual treatment time) and are very tolerable, patients often describe a mild sting during the injection that dissipates within a couple of minutes.

Will Dysport® make me look “frozen” or unnatural?

Dysport® cosmetic injections offer relaxed, natural results when you are treated by someone who is licensed, trained, and has expertise in facial anatomy and evaluation. After treatment, you’ll look like yourself—only with less noticeable wrinkles/fine lines. No one should be able to tell you’ve had anything done.

Are Dysport® injections only for women or certain age groups?

Not at all! Adult men of all ages use Dysport® and other neurotoxin injectibles to treat fine lines/wrinkles.

Many men prefer Dysport® over BOTOX® Cosmetic part of what they do to care for their appearance as this medication can cover a greater surface area (forehead for example). Dysport® can be used for long-term prevention of fine lines and wrinkles as well, often patients in their 30’s and 40’s get started with Dysport® as part of their skincare regimen.

How long does it take to see the results of Dysport®? How long do the results last?

You will begin to notice results within 48 hours, results can last up to 5 months for moderate to severe frown lines. Remember that results vary from patient to patient though, so Dr. Lindsay will plan your next appointment based on your results and aesthetic goals.

How long is the recovery time after treatment with Dysport®?

Treatment requires minimal downtime. So you can return to your daily routine immediately after you leave your specialist’s office. You should avoid high-intensity exercise for 24 hours post-treatment as well as avoid lying down for 4 hours after your injections are complete.

What is the cost of Dysport® with Dr. Lindsay?

Dysport® is typically priced per unit and this is based on the injectors’ experience and level of expertise. The number of units needed for a treatment area is typically 2x what is needed with BOTOX® Cosmetic but is also much less expensive per unit. Treatment cost will be determined during the consultation portion of the visit with Dr. Lindsay. There are additional per-unit discounts if patients choose to inject 100+ units during a visit.

How do I find out if Dysport® injections are right for me?

Dr Lindsay will send an intake form and appropriate paperwork to fill out before your visit for Dysport® injections. She will determine eligibility for this treatment based on intake paperwork and her in-office evaluation.
