Around 95% of my patients struggle with fatigue. I wish I could say there’s one silver bullet cure to this but that just isn’t the case. Fatigue is related to so many different systems. But, what I want to talk about is the main obstacle for people feeling better.

Most working moms that come through my door know what they need to do to get healthy but simply don’t have the time to do those things. That time resource is so precious, so valuable, and so challenging when it comes to getting healthy. 

Unfortunately, the medical model right now is your typical consult-to-consult based. They will give you a plan and tell you to follow that and then have a follow up in a month. So many things can happen in that month to throw you off that plan. 

The problem with this is that in the long term your fatigue only gets worse and worse. You’re basically just putting bandaid solutions on in the meantime, trying to implement what changes you can.

So many women in their 30’s, and moving into their 40’s, and then heading into menopause, feel completely burnt out and are unable to function. That affects their ability to be resilient, positive and optimistic, and ability to be present for their families in a way that they want and need to be.  

So, if you’re feeling tired now, it’s important to find out what you can do between now and that menopause time in 10-15 years. Those should be the best years of your life, not the hardest. 

When it comes to that time obstacle, part of the problem is nobody has really designed or thought outside the box in terms of creating a program that’s actually going to allow someone to make sustainable change.
